COURSE REGISTRATIONS

Register early to avoid disappointment.  If you register 10 calendar days in advance you will receive a 10% discount on class tuition only. This discount does not apply to private music or art lessons.

Registration is completed on a first-come, first-served basis.  Class spots cannot be held without payment, therefore to be sure that your spot in the class is reserved, payment must accompany registrations.

You may register by phone only if you will be paying by credit card.  We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. Sweetwater's phone number is 412-741-4405.

Make checks payable to Sweetwater Center for the Arts or fill out the credit card information on the registration form.  Please include the credit card number, expiration date, and CVV or VIN number (3-digit code on the back of card).

In Person:

You may register in person Monday through Thursday  9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. or Friday and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Please call 412.741.4405 with any questions.

Classes are filled in the order registrations are received.  Students who register by mail should assume acceptance unless otherwise notified.  We do not send a confirmation letter.  It is the responsibility of the student to appear in class on the correct day and time without additional notice.

Late Registrations
Students may register for any class space permitting, before the second class; however, class fees are not pro-rated, and cancellation decisions are made 2 days prior to the start date.

Transfer Policy
Students may transfer without any charge from one class to another before either class has met twice. A transfer may be made by calling Sweetwater. Transfers may only be made within the same term. No transfers will be accepted once the second class begins.

Membership
There are numerous benefits to becoming a Sweetwater Member.  Not only do you recieve substantial savings on class tuition, but many other perks as well.  Including:

  • $5.00 - $20.00 savings on workshops and classes
  • $5.00/hr. discount on studio rentals
  • 5% discount at Garcia Marketing on film and darkroom supplies
  • 10% discount at The Frame and Photo Depot located in Quaker Village Shopping Center in Leetsdale

Memberships are valid for one calendar year from the date of purchase.
  • Individual memberships are $40
  • Family memberships are $65  (immediate family only)
  • Memberships are nonrefundable

Materials
All materials, unless otherwise noted, will be supplied by students at their own expense. A list of necessary materials will be provided at the time of registration or will be provided by the faculty at the first class.

Sweetwater Course Policy
Sweetwater makes every effort to maintain the schedule of courses as announced in the catalogue. However, we reserve the right to cancel courses, change instructors and combine classes when necessary without prior notification.

Cancellations and Refunds
Sweetwater does not offer make-up classes or tuition reimbursement for student absenteeism. Sweetwater does not prorate tuition for classes that the student cannot attend.

If Sweetwater must cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, registered students will be notified 2 days before the start date, and tuition will be reimbursed within 30 days of notification.

If the student must cancel his/her enrollment in a course, the following cancellation policy will apply:

Class cancellations must be made at least 3 business days prior to the start date of class. Students may receive either a partial refund ($20 cancellation fee will be applied) OR a credit voucher in the full amount if they cancel no less than 3 business days before the class start date. No refunds or credit vouchers will be given without 3 business days notice.

Child Drop-off and Dismissal Policy
The following policy applies to children enrolled in pre-school, children's and teen's classes (Ages 3-15). In order to keep your child safe, please escort him/her to class every day. If anyone other than yourself is to pick up your child, please write a note and give it to the instructor at class. If you give your child permission to walk home or to meet you outside after class, then you must write a note stating this and give it to the instructor.
