CREATIVE THINKING
LE01, Ages 16 & up
This is not a journaling class, but rather a creative approach to transforming the errant thought, the mundane experience, the apparently incomprehensive dream - the weird and the wonderful - into a work of short fiction. As soon as students have registered for the class, each should begin to jot down ideas they have had, thoughts that have buzzed around in their minds, dreams that nag but do not take shape, characters without a narrative home. These will be discussed and transformed into the appropriate form or genre - a one act play, a short story, a chapter for a larger narrative work - at whose heart is the unique voice of the writer him/herself. Please bring a notebook and pen/pencil to class.
