Two projects will be completed: first, a simple hammered cuff bracelet with a stone setting; then a more intricate bracelet of the artist's own design. SILVER & GOLD EARRINGS: PMC & KEUM-BOO
TC03
Ages 16 & up
Make a pair of stunning silver and high-karat gold earrings that will have your friends asking, “Wow, you made THAT?” First, make a pair of fine silver earrings with Precious Metal Clay (PMC), an amazing form of fine silver that is malleable and worked like clay but fires to pure silver with a kiln or torch. Returning PMC students, learn a new tip for taking your work from flat to three-dimensional. Next, explore the easy process of keum-boo, the Asian art of fusing gold foil to a silver object with heat. We’ll make, fire, embellish, polish, and add a patina to your pieces (if desired) and have you walking out the door with precious jewelry you’ll be proud to wear. No experience is necessary. All tools and materials provided. A $55 materials fee (may vary with market prices) is payable to the instructor at the first class.
