2013 Internship Opportunities (ongoing):
Event Planning/Exhibition Intern:
Sweetwater Center for the Arts seeks an Event Planning/Exhibition intern for the fall. Internship will begin in September and end in December. Qualified interns must have a background in event planning, marketing or arts administration and possess excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, as well as an ability to work independently, creatively and efficiently.
A knowledge of or prior experience in the arts is preferred, and strong computer skills in word processing, design and web software are encouraged. Responsibilities will include assisting the Artistic Director with planning, set up, cleanup and other tasks during events and gallery exhibitions, hanging exhibitions, preparing materials for events and exhibitions, assisting with marketing for all events at Sweetwater and conducting market research. Interns may be required to assist with various administrative tasks as well.
Selected intern is expected to work 15-20 hours per week; schedule is flexible and can include daytime, evening or weekend hours. Interns will receive a stipend for events.

Marketing and Arts Administration Intern:
Sweetwater Center for the Arts, a non-profit arts organization located in Sewickley seeks a Marketing Intern for the fall. Internship will begin in January and end in March. Qualified interns must have a background in marketing or arts administration and possess excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, as well as an ability to work independently, creatively and efficiently.
A knowledge of or prior experience of the arts is preferred, and strong computer skills in both word processing, design and web software are encouraged. Responsibilities will include designing promotional material, conducting market research, writing press releases and assisting with other marketing and administrative tasks.
This internship is unpaid, but offers great experience in the areas of nonprofit, marketing and arts administration. Selected intern is expected to work 10-15 hours per week; schedule is flexible and can include daytime, evening or weekend hours.
