Sweetwater Center for the Arts, a non-profit art center located in Sewickley, is seeking a highly organized, energetic and motivated individual for a full-time Education Coordinator, reporting to the Executive Director.

Primary responsibilities:

This position includes the development, coordination and evaluation of Sweetwater's (SW) educational programming, including children's and adult classes; recruits, hires, supervises instructors and ceramics technician; oversees the production of quarterly class catalog and coordinates publication with graphic designer and printer; assists with marketing SW educational programming; maintains awareness of current trends in arts education; calculates costs and maintains budgets; orders supplies and equipment; monitors, documents and communicates enrollment, cancellations, and schedules; administers and reviews course evaluations.  Also, responsible for the coordination of Outreach programs.


  • Detail-oriented; organized and possess strong interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to multi-task and basic computer knowledge (MS Office to include MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to think creatively are essential;
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with reliable transportation.



Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of education and training is required.  Arts education, arts management or arts-related degree is preferred.

Schedule:   8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday; additional hours may be required

Sweetwater Center for the Arts seeks instructors to teach week long, half-day summer camps for pre-school, children and teen age groups. Summer camps run mid-June through mid-August.  Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in art education. Previous teaching experience is required.  Applicants must have Act 34/114/151 Clearances.  Applicants should send a cover letter, resume including two professional references, copies of Act 34/114/151 clearances, and examples of artwork (digital images preferred).
