Sweetwater Center for the Arts, a nonprofit art center located in Sewickley, PA is seeking Teaching Artists to teach classes of various media to both children and adults for the 2017-2018 school year.

Sweetwater Center for the Arts, a non-profit art center located in Sewickley, is hiring a part-time receptionist. Primary responsibilities include maintaining a presence at the front desk, providing excellent customer service, fielding telephone calls, receiving and directing customers with a positive attitude, assisting instructors, setting up for classes, filing and data entry, cleaning up and closing building. Qualifications: applicant must be responsible, organized, possess strong interpersonal skills and have basic computer knowledge. Education: completion of high school; pursuance of college degree an asset. Applicant must have a current Pennsylvania driver’s license and reliable transportation. This position is ideal for individuals who are currently in college and/or looking for a part-time job to supplement their income.


Schedule may include but is not limited to:

Monday – Thursday evenings

Alternating Friday & Saturday shifts

Duties include:

  • Front desk duties: answering phones, customer service
  • Set-up/Clean-up of classes for that day and for the following day
  • Opening/Closing building properly/setting alarm
  • Checking main voicemail
  • Sorting mail
  • Taking class registrations
  • Updating database
  • Class cancellation and other education phone calls
  • Assisting with event preparation
  • Clean bulletin boards, bins around building
  • Restock bins around building with Sweetwater literature
  • Other duties as assigned
